Transport of a ball valve

In May, we had the opportunity to transport two very heavy components for the Limberg pumped-storage power plant in Kaprun.
The two ball valves each had a unit weight of 130 tons and a width of 4.60 m. The overall dimensions of the heavy transport — without additional pushing and pulling vehicles — were 32.00 m in length, 4.60 m in width, 4.30 m in height, and nearly 200 tons in weight.
Extensive preparaton work was required for these two transports:

bridge load calculations
-
site inspections and site clearances
-
laying of road mats to cross traffic islands
-
removal of road signs
-
and much more.
After all preliminary work had been completed and the authorities had given their approval, the two transports set off step by step from Schwarzach to Kaprun in mid- May.
