Transport of a passenger ship Linz - Zell am See
· 07 May · 2026
We, Knoll Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, were commissioned to plan and successfully implement the "New Electric Ship for Lake Zell" project.
Following meticulous preparation, the securing of numerous permits, and a detailed route survey, the load was distributed across three trucks: two carried the upper deck sections, while the third transported the hull.
With a width of 6.90 meters, our team faced a host of challenges: narrow road sections, complex construction sites, bridges, tunnels, road closures, and railway crossings.
After loading at the Linz heavy-lift port, the convoy set off for Zell am See as scheduled. Moving at a walking pace and requiring intense concentration and seamless teamwork, the team successfully navigated every stage of the journey.
After three long legs, the electric vessel reached the unloading site in Thumersbach, where it was lifted into Lake Zell at daybreak.
A huge thank you goes to our client, all the authorities and partners involved—and above all, the entire team at Knoll.
This project would not have been possible without teamwork.
Thank you to everyone!
